Immunization Update 2019
Richard Dang, Pharm.D., APh, BCACP is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Program Director of the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy. He completed a postgraduate residency program in community-based pharmacy practice at the USC School of Pharmacy, where he also received his Doctor of Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, and Health Communication degrees. Dr. Dang is an advanced practice pharmacist and community-based pharmacy practitioner. His practice sites include the community-based collaborative practice clinics at the USC Pharmacies and Keck Medical Center of USC, the USC International Travel Health Clinic, and the USC Medication Management Center.
- Identify appropriate resources for immunization recommendations
- Review and interpret important changes to ACIP recommendations and the CDC’s immunization schedules for adults and children in the United States
- Examine information about the efficacy and safety of newly licensed vaccine products
- Assess patient profiles and recommend immunizations based on age, medical indications, or other risk factors
Continuing Pharmacy Education
The California Pharmacists Association (#0113) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Upon completing an evaluation form, participants will be awarded 1 hour (0.1 CEUs) of Continuing Pharmacy Education Credit. A statement of credit will not be issued. Participants may log onto the CPE monitor website using their individual log in to download their statement of credit. Please allow 4 weeks for processing of CPE credits to the CPE monitor.
