Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery is an innovative and interactive practice-based educational program that provides pharmacists with the skills necessary to become primary sources for vaccine advocacy, education, and administration. The program reviews the basics of immunology, identifies legal and regulatory issues pharmacists must consider before starting an immunization program, and focuses on practice implementation.
This certificate training program’s 20 hours of continuing education (12 hours of home study and 8 hours of live training) is a comprehensive program.
In Person Skills Assessment
The hands-on skills assessment will occur on an appointment basis within one week of the virtual class. CPhA will coordinate with you regarding the date, time and location of this assessment to be held in relatively close proximity to your home or workplace. Your technique will be observed and reviewed by a trained assessor who will sign off on APhA’s Injection Technique Assessment Form upon your acceptable demonstration of skills. You and one other learner will be scheduled together for the appointment and will serve as each other’s “patient”. CPhA will provide all necessary clinical supplies for the assessment, including appropriate PPE for yourself, the other learner, and the assessor. Please select your preferred assessment location and all date(s) and time(s) you have available for the assessment.
Special accommodations can be made for out-of-state or other registered learners to complete their injection technique assessment with an independent APhA certified immunizer. Learners must provide their own supplies for the assessment.
Once you have successfully passed your injection technique assessment, you will be given the attendance code to claim your credit, take the post exam and print your certificate of achievement.

**Non-member Student Pharmacist: To be considered a student pharmacist, you must be actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy.
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable under any circumstances. Please be advised that this program is subject to postponement or cancellation if the required minimum number of registrants is not met at least 10 days prior to the program. If class is cancelled, CPhA will automatically transfer your registration fee to a future CPhA hosted APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training class.
