Cannabis Use & Distribution – Legal Implications for a Pharmacist

Description: Join Tony J. Park, Pharm.D., J.D. in his provocative CE presentation about potential legal consequences to a pharmacist’s RPH license who chooses to personally use or distribute cannabis pursuant to California Proposition 64, the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Summarize the new cannabis laws that came into effect on January 01, 2018, pursuant to the passage of California Proposition 64, the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative.
  2. Hypothesize all potential enforcement actions against California licensed pharmacists who use or distribute cannabis.
  3. Evaluate the regulatory risks and benefits to using or distributing cannabis in California to a licensed pharmacist.

The California Pharmacists Association (#0113) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Upon completing an evaluation form, participants will be awarded 1 hour (0.1 CEUs) of Continuing Pharmacy Education Credit. A statement of credit will not be issued. Participants may log onto the CPE monitor website using their individual log in to download their statement of credit. Please allow 4 weeks for processing of CPE credits to the CPE monitor.
