After the election in 2016, the momentum has shifted to Republicans within each branch of government at the federal level. This has led to a shift towards repeal and replacement of the ACA. Such a shift is likely to result in significant changes to the California Medicaid program and has also impacted the direction of health systems throughout California. This program will focus on providing a legislative update and describe the impact it will have California pharmacists, health systems, and patients.
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the political climate as it relates to Federal healthcare reform
- Evaluate key updates to Federal Healthcare Laws
- Key updates to California Healthcare law in response to federal changes
- Describe and assess the likely impact of proposed (or passed) healthcare legislation
- Daniel Tomaszewski, PharmD, PhD, Chapman University School of Pharmacy
