Spanish in the Pharmacy: What You Need to Know


This course is a hands-on, interactive presentation designed to help improve your confidence and skills using Spanish in the pharmacy. A review of medical and pharmacy Spanish focusing on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and patient care. Designed for those who have had some formal instruction in the Spanish language but not required for participation.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • More effectively pronounce Spanish vocabulary
  • Apply circumlocution skills to communicate using vocabulary they already know
  • Apply new and existing knowledge of Spanish vocabulary to patient care scenarios
  • Have a better understanding of the Hispanic culture in the pharmacy setting

Continuing Pharmacy Education

The California Pharmacists Association (#0113) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Upon completing an evaluation form, participants will be awarded 1.25 hours (0.125 CEUs) of Continuing Pharmacy Education Credit. A statement of credit will not be issued. Participants may log onto the CPE monitor website using their individual log in to download their statement of credit. Please allow 4 weeks for processing of CPE credits to the CPE monitor.
