Part II: Non-Prescription Syringe Access in California Pharmacies: Making It Real

Pharmacists play an important role in disease prevention.  By understanding new California legislation regarding the sale of non-prescription syringes, pharmacists will be able to implement this strategy in their communities to prevent the transmission of blood-borne pathogens such as HIV hepatitis viruses.  This session will allow for an interactive discussion with legislative experts from the Office of AIDS, California Department of Public Health, HIV clinical pharmacists from UCSF School of Pharmacy and discuss research regarding the successes and challenges community pharmacists have had in implementing the sale of non-prescription syringes. Continuing Pharmacy Education

The California Pharmacists Association (#0113) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
